Hey there - are you new to riding? Or haven't ridden for a long time?
Are you wondering how you ever thought it would be possible to finish a
long ride in June?
The Orinda Cat 1 series is your answer. Yes you really can do this!
Training rides can make miracles happen -- several of us who lead the
rides are living proof of that, since we remember all too well what it
was like to be new and very scared.
The Cat 1 series will start gently and increase the number of miles by
3-6 miles each week. We will also add hills gradually as the weeks go
by so you will become a confident climber. So now we are really and
truly climbing! But don't worry, we will be with you if you are finding
it tough going.
We'll meet early for a mini-clinic (dressing for comfort) and to get to
know each other a bit. Then we will ride out to Moraga and into the
hills via Pinehurst, taking Redwood Road all the way south to Castro
Valley, where we stop for coffee and snack. We then meander back to
Montclair (rest stop 2) and then climb Old Tunnel Road and Grizzly Peak
to get back to Orinda. Warning. You are definitely climbing on this one!
Bring money to buy snacks!
We guarantee you won't get left behind. We don't mind if you are slow, we will stick with you.
And if you are an experienced rider, come on out and support those who
aren't! Dress warmly, bring extra layers - we can't wait to see you.
