Why am I riding?
My name is Shawn and I have a personal connection to the cause. My big brother Scott Richard Overby passed away due to complications from HIV/AIDS on May 6, 2006; 1 month before he would have turned 44. He was an amazing person. Creative and talented. I created a video of photos in his honor prior to my 2016 ride:

Not a day goes by that I don't think of him. I miss him dearly. I ride to honor the fight he had with the disease. I ride so that others don't lose loved ones. Thanks to AIDS/LIFECYCLE there is so much available help and funding for research that have led to things such as PrEP!
Also, each year I've ridden I've donated $ toward my fundraising. I put my $ where my ❤ is.
