Thank you for joining me in pursuit of ending HIV/AIDS!
You may have seen the news ... but sadly, for the second year in a row, we have had to cancel AIDS/LifeCycle 2021. You know, coronavirus.
With that said, HIV/AIDS is not sheltering in place and we are at great risk if we don't keep the work going.
As Ride Director of AIDS/LifeCycle, I don't actually get to ride my bike the week of the ride. I do get to dress up in silly costumes, cheer people on and mostly watch over our operation to make sure that the ~2500 cyclists and ~650 roadies make the journey from SF to LA in a safe and happy manner.
This year, we have launched a new event - TogetheRide! Collectively we have two goals: to ride 1.2 million miles in honor of the 1.2 million folks in the US living with HIV/AIDS and we are raising $5million towards our mission - to END AIDS. I am committed to reaching my personal goals of raising $20,000 and riding 2,000 miles between now and the end of June 2021.
It is a privilege to be able to do this work and to be able to support San Francisco AIDS Foundation and The Los Angeles LGBT Center. These two organizations do incredible work and are helping to get us to a world without AIDS. During this public health crisis, it will take all of us to make that happen.
Please donate today as we tell HIV/AIDS to take notice. Even with COVID-19, we aren't stopping until we END AIDS!
Thank you! Tracy
