Thank you for joining me in this cause!
June 5th - June 11th, 2022, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. Again, this year, I'll be one of them!
After a two year hiatus due to COVID, this will be my 2nd year being a Roadie on ALC. ALC 2019 was a life changing experience for me. In fact, day one of the ride last year I took the plunge and signed up for 2022. The hard work, the early morning hours, the friendships forged and the laughs and tears shared were beyond my wildest expectations and so rewarding. If you've ever considered riding or volunteering for such an event, I strongly encourage you to check it out and sign up, you won't regret it. Some of the pictures shared are just a small snippet of what the ride is all about. Everyone works so hard towards a common goal, I still can feel every smile, every hug and every laugh we shared and I cannot wait to meet up with my ALC family in May and do it all again.
I am participating for a variety of reasons. Like so many people, HIV/AIDS has impacted my life in a big way - from losing many friends, to losing my partner of nearly 20 years. The various organizations that benefit from these fundraisers play such a vital role in the day to day lives of people living with HIV/AIDS - the emotional and financial toll of this disease can be devastating. I've supported various organizations for the past several years both financially and through volunteering. I'm looking forward to once again be participating in the 2022 ALC Ride and ask that you help by making a donation today. Not for me, but for those who really can use your help.
Not being able to hold the ride for the past two years, the services that so desperately need these funds really took a financial hit. I realize this pandemic has been tough on all of us, but any amount you can spare for a cause that I feel so passionate about will be greatly appreciated. (And, if your employer offers gift matching, you can double your gift).
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, I've witnessed first hand how even the smallest amount of support from these organizations makes such a huge impact, and your support means the world to me.
We're working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
