May 31st-June 6th 2021 over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists would have participated in the AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I would have been one of them.....BUT due to the current COVID-19 pandemic crisis going on around the world, AIDS LifeCycle for 2021 has been changed to the TOGETHERIDE .... a virtual organization where members participate in fund raising and road/virtual/etc riding to accumulate as a group 1.2 million miles of riding to represent those who have suffering/living with AIDS/HIV in the USA.
I am riding for so many reasons....being an older gay man, I went through the AIDS pandemic of the 1980s in Houston, TX and have lost many friends to this disease...one being my late partner of 15 yrs Jerry Branum, who passed in 2009.
I have set a goal to raise $5000 and ride 2500 miles before the June 30, 2021 deadline. So please make a donation to my account to help me reach my goal as well as Team FUBAR's goal.
