Of course all of us!
Like many of us in the LGBT community and beyond, I am and have been personally affected by HIV / AIDS in my social life, in my sex life, in my relationships...etc. We've made huge inroads on treatment and prevention, which is amazing. We are so close to developping a cure, it can almost feel like the end is in sight!
In my lifetime HIV / AIDS will be a thing of the past.
I want to ride for the Freddie Mercury's, the Keith Harring's, the Margrethe P. Rask's, the Victoria Arellano's and many others. Those who didn't get the chances that some of us have been fortunate enough to have. HIV does not discriminate, it will infect anyone it can.
In order for HIV/AIDS to belong in the history books more money is needed to care for those living with HIV (medications are expensive) and also money is needed to fund research for a cure. That's why, I will bike for 7 days in June, with 3000 others for 545mi, going from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I hope to be able to raise as much money as possible, as my little bit to help eradicate HIV / AIDS, so that the brilliance of future generations isn't cut so tragically short.
