On May 31st through June 6th I will be riding the AIDS Lifecycle again to support the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the L.A LGBT Center. This is my first year back after a major accident and will be my toughest ride yet, but this cause is worth it to me when I think about the huge impact the donations I raise have in the lives of so many. In past rides I was continually moved by the stories I heard about the impact our fundraising has already made and the outpouring the support from communities large and small along the route from San Francisco to L.A. This year I have teamed up with the Pedal Pups to not only continue to raise funds for these great causes, but also help build community throughout the year leading up to the event.
For those of you who don't know, the AIDS/LifeCycle is a fundraising ride down the California coast from San Francisco to Los Angeles in which the money raised goes towards education, support programs and programs which put us one step closer to ending HIV/AIDS. I am riding in support of friends and community members who are currently impacted by this disease and in hopes that I can be a part of the cure in the future.
Every year, this amazing ride delivers a life-changing experience for thousands of participants from all backgrounds and fitness levels brought together by a common desire to end HIV/AIDS. HIV/AIDS research and care has come a long way over the years, but there is still a long way to go in our fight and many budget cuts threaten to slow down education, advocacy, research and services.
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me. Please help me raise money to support these amazing groups as I bike for 7 days and 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles by giving what you can. Check if your company offers corporate donor matching!
We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.
