This is my 5th time to participate in the AIDS/LifeCycle ride. In the last 4 times, I have raised over $50K! People always ask me why I ride and here's why:
I ride for those who have died of HIV and AIDS.
AIDS is not over. In California alone, there are 151,000 people living with HIV. Nationally, 70 percent of all new infections occur in communities of color and people under the age of 25 are increasingly affected. The costs associated with medical care and treatment for a person with HIV is about $20,000 per year.
I ride because I can make a difference.
From June 2 - 8, 2019, I'll be riding 7-days + 545-miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS. We are committed to raise $200,000 for the San Francisco AIDS foundation that provides critical services and education needed to meet the growing needs of our community.
I ride because I physically can.
I rode for my first time in 2014 and I had a life-changing experience. With the help and support of from you, I am excited to be a part of something bigger.
I ride so that someday, we won’t have to.
