Please help me on my 9th journey with AIDS LifeCycle!
From June 4th - June 10th, 2017 I will again ride my bicycle 545 miles, from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I won't be doing this alone. I am one of roughly 3000 people traveling about 78 miles daily through the State of California. We are raising awareness about new spikes in HIV infection, and fundraising to support life-saving services offered by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
HIV | AIDS disease rarely makes headlines. The Center for Disease Control estimates 1.2M in the USA are currently living with HIV infection, and that number climbs every year. Drug therapies and compliance allow HIV infected people to live productive lives. Similar drugs are used effectively to prevent infection. Because of the SFAF's and LAGLC's education and advocacy programs, Californians and people across the globe are managing their disease and preventing new infections. Unfortunately Federal funding for PrEP that prevents infections is slated to be almost completely eliminated. I am fearful that short term savings could mean an increase in otherwise preventable infections.
I am a member of the incredibly supportive team, New Bear Republic. Our lofty team goal is to raise $600,000. I would really appreciate your support, help me raise $5000. Please support my volunteer effort, make a donation today!
Many thanks, Kirk
