I'm riding to End AIDS! On May 31 - June 1, 2020. I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 556-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS. Many of you reading this will have heard about "the ride" many times and for many years. Why? Well, I have done over 23 rides for AIDS charities during the last 23 years (and raised over $137K). This year is the 18th anniversary of the AIDS Life Cycle. The California AIDS Life Cycle benefits The Center in LA and the SF AIDS Foundation (this year I am riding for the SF AIDS Foundation).
545 Miles or Bust! Help me support the San Francisco AIDS Foundation by giving what you can. Small donations are fine. Large donations are fine. If you cannot give (I know how challenging times are), you can pledge your support for me...and that is fine too! :) It would be nice to get frequent flyer miles for this fundraising ride, but that is not why I am doing it. More than the distance or the money, this ride brings awareness to a disease that affects so many people world-wide. I ride for my friends who have passed, my friends who are HIV positive, people worldwide with HIV, and the family and friends who support the latter. We are one world and this disease affects us all. Help me make a difference in helping others with HIV/AIDS. So, do not feel that your contribution will not help! It will!
Where does the money I donate go? The beneficiary is a direct sponsor of the ride. There is no contracted management taking large cuts of money (right now it is around 70 cents on the dollar go to the SF AIDS Foundation). So, the more efficiently the SF AIDS Foundation Ride Office manages their portion of the ride, the more profitable it is for them. Remember, all donations are tax deductible!
Lastly, I am committed to this ride. I will do all the hard work and pay my way to/from CA. I will also donate 10% of what you donate to the Whitman Walker Clinic in DC (up to $1K). So, Let's do this! :)
