Help me support AIDS/LifeCycle by giving what you can. We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.
This will be my 17th year as a participant. I spent 11 years as a Roadie volunteer, and have ridden the last 6.
My first Lifecycle I did on a dare from a friend. He said I didn't have the guts to take a week out of my life to make a difference for others. I had to prove him wrong! At the time I didn't know anyone living with HIV or AIDS and thought I would never be affected by it. To me it was someone else's problem. Through my participation in AIDS/Lifecycle over the last 15 years I have completely changed my point of view for the better. HIV is no longer a death sentance and people are living longer. However, even with this knowledge there are so many people who dont' know they are positive and if they know, they don't know what to do. The Los Angeles LGBT center provides those opportunities. They don't discriminate since they know that this disease affects all races and genders.
Your dontation goes a long way to helping those affected by HIV/AIDS:
$25 Helps one Senior Citizen gain access to support groups
$50 covers a full day of services at the youth center (shower, meals, laundry and employment training)
$100 allows one client to recieve comprehensive HIV/STD Testing and Counseling.
$1000 provides rapid HIV tests for 80 clients.
Your contribution helps The Center accomplish great things in just one year:
178,000 prescriptions were filled
81,400 meals served to homeless youth.
26,371 were tested for HIV and STI's
2,800 people received treatment for HIV/AIDS
2,000 people received leagl related services
1,000 meals were served to low income seniors at Triangle Square.
300 Homeless youth found jobs through the Youth Employment Program.
These are just a handful of what The Center does for the LGBT community. Please help me reach my goal!
You don't have to contribute in one installment, you can break them down into 2-10 payments.
