Welcome to Steven Dawson’s TogetheRide fundraising page, formerly known as AIDS/LifeCycle. As with many other things in our lives, Covid-19 has changed AIDS/LifeCycle taking the traditional ride off the road once again for 2021. However, Covid-19 hasn’t changed my commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS.
TogetheRide has set a goal to have participants ride 1.2 million miles to honor the 1.2 million US citizens living with HIV/AIDS. You can join me in helping us reach that goal and fight HIV/AIDS.
My personal mileage goal for TogetheRide is to ride 2,920 miles.
On October 17, 2020, my father passed away. My father taught me to ride a bike. My father taught me the importance of being of service to the community; he was a volunteer firefighter for more than 60 years. During our phone conversations he would always ask me about my rides and always sounded proud of me for my accomplishments. On one of our last calls, he was speaking of his health and said he regretted not being more active, he said to me “don’t stop riding”.
By riding 2,920 miles for TogetheRide, I will have rode the miles it would take me to ride my bike from Camarillo, California to Cordova, Maryland, my hometown.
Together, we can continue the fight against HIV/AIDS. Please join me by making a contribution to TogetheRide. “During these uncertain times” it is more important than ever to remember that we can’t stop the fight until HIV/AIDS is history.
