CELEBRATING 17 YEARS OF CYCLING to Improve the Lives of Those Living with HIV/AIDS!

Donate Now

15th Anniversary:  This will be the 15th year I've participated in AIDS Lifecycle!!

And our current political climate adds to the need to fundraise......so many unfortunate decisions are being made that negatively impact the HIV+ population and millions of others.  So it's time to re-double our efforts and help in any way we can!

17 years of riding!  Over 35,000 miles!  Over $80,000 YOU have help me raise for this cause!

PLEASE HELP:  I'm hoping to raise $8,000 in my 17th year!  :)

Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined doing this ride 15 times!

I am truly humbled and honored to be part of group of cyclists nationwide and around the world using a bicycle to make a difference:  Desert Roadrunners, Positive Pedalers (www.pospeds.org), Chain Gang, Payasos, Shifting Gears and all the other teams that have included me in their family -- THANK YOU.  You bring me such joy!

Yet, the disease is still with us.......the stigma of HIV remains very prevalent.  Many in the HIV community are still reluctant to talk about it.

Those in the HIV/AIDS struggle daily in maintaining their health & getting reasonbly-priced health services.  New infections are still alarmingly present in communities all over the US.  Those becomming HIV+ are constantly saying "we didn't know, we didn't realize, we don't care, no one told us, we thought it was a manageable disease!"

Any disease that costs a patient $25,000 a year is certainly not "manageable".

This is why AIDS Lifecycle is SO important!  The money raised is used for education, prevention, testing, health services & so much more.  AIDS Lifecycle, the world's largest HIV/AIDS cycling fundraiser, is on the forefront of teaching & showing people worldwide that there's work to do.  And we can have fun doing it!

I am a Training Ride Leader (TRL) for AIDS Lifecycle (my 15th year), helping newbies and veterans alike become better, safer, stronger cyclists!  ALC takes enormous pride in their completely unparalleled safety record!

I'm also a proud member of the Positive Pedalers, a national cycling organization comprised of HIV+ & HIV- cyclists and their supporters striving to eliminate the stigma of HIV through our positive public example.  After serving on the Board of Directors for 6 years (2 as President), it's still an incredible honor to be able so serve this life-changing organization!  www.pospeds.org

And of course I have the amazing honor of being Team Captain for the ALC riders in the desert/Coachella Valley, the Desert Roadrunners!  The nearly 50 riders and roadies on this team have not only won community awards for their visibility and dedication to the fights against HIV/AIDS, but they've created this amazing, inspirational family of riders that are the embodiment of our Love Bubble!

There are hundreds of you that have faithfully supported my efforts all these years -- THANK YOU! You've gotta take a bow because that is extraordinary -- something to be very proud of. I truly owe my ability to keep making wonderful changes in our community through your support.

I'm hoping to hit that amazing $8,000 support mark by end of May! Amazingly, you've help me hit my goal for 17 straight years!  Can you believe it?!  :)  I'm humbled.  And folks in desparate need of assistance are helped.  Lessons are taught.  Lives are changed!

Can we do it?  YES WE CAN!!!!

From June 5-11, 2022, I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 550-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.

We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.

"Let us give publicity to HIV/AIDS and not hide it, because [that is] the only way to make it appear like a normal illness.........  One of the things destroying people with AIDS is the stigma we attach to it." -- Nelson Mandela, following the death of his son from AIDS in 2005
