Day 3 In Bradley 2018

Why Do I participate in AIDS Lifecycle?

Well the answer isn't very complicated but it is important. There are so many things I could say but the most important ones are this:

1. AIDS isn't going away so we continue to raise money to help the many living with the disease to get the services they need. THAT is first and foremost

2. I was living in the Bay Area when HIV hit and hit hard. I along with so many was devastated by the frequent losses we all experienced. I lost almost all of my friends.

3. HIV still carries a stigma so by this organization getting out there year after year, we show the world that so many everyday people are raising awareness that many people, infected or not, gay or straight, care enough to show the world they care.

Finally, the ALC community is like no other. Loving, caring and accepting in every way. Every year for 8 days, we come together in love and pain and in the excitement of another ride, another week of hard work, camaraderie and yes, fun. For one week and one day our world is focused on this event and on one goal and that is to move this small cit of riders and roadies down the California countryside and into Old Angeles.

Won't you join me once again as I try to raise as much as I can for this great cause.

My ELEVENTH YEAR! Amazing! Thank you for joining me again in this cause!

I began this journey with ALC in 2009 when I rode for ALC in ALC 8. Now we call them by the year so its ALC 2020 for me.

Through the years, you have been my strong supporters and because of you I always raise a great deal of money for tis worthy cause. For that I am eternally grateful. Last year we raised 16.8 million dollars and we hope to break that this year. Can you help me make that 17++ million this year?

From May 31st until June 6th over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

This year, I will once again be a ROADIE with Cannondale doing my part to keep riders riding. It’s a grueling job doing adjustments, changing flats (hundreds of them) and whatever else we can to help riders ride but it’s so worth it helping the riders do their part.

The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them because they are life saving. And your support means the world to me as well!

We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past but we're also working to help people live with HIV.

Will you support me by making a donation today?

What a ride.
