From May 31st to June 6th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I'll be one of them!
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me. Here’s an example of how your donations can help:
1000$ funds one week-long seminar where people recently diagnosed with HIV can learn more about living with HIV
$1,500$ provides 8,000 sterile syringes to prevent transmission of HIV and hepatitis C
2,000$ helps keep mobile testing units rolling, allowing access to diverse and underserved communities in the city
500$ provides counseling to 60 teens at risk or 40 rapid HIV tests at one of the many testing sites
$250 bolsters efforts to train community members on how to reverse an opioid overdose
100$ supplies 1,100 condoms to help risk reduction services
50$ allows case managers to stay connected with clients living with HIV
25$ helps one client offset out of pocket healthcare expenses
All of our efforts will help in achieving the goal to reduce new HIV diagnoses, help those living with HIV, increase awareness, and together we can make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
