Thank you for joining me in this cause!
I have been fighting to stop the spread and devastating effects of HIV and AIDS for more than half my life. In 1986, I presented a nine-point proposal we had developed at BAYMEC for dealing with the epidemic locally to the Board of Supervisors. I was honored later that year when the Board asked me to be the first chair of the County’s AIDS Task Force.
Now, more than 30 years later, the pain and sorrow brought by the illnesses and deaths from HIV/AIDS in the 1980s and 90s thankfully has been substantially reduced. However, the virus and disease are still with us. That’s why I am taking part in this year’s AIDS Life/Cycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles, both to draw attention to the fact that HIV/AIDS remains a significant public health issue and to raise money for research and treatment.
I’ve set a personal goal of raising $15,000, and I hope to exceed that. You can make a donation and join my team by clicking on the orange button on this page. Thank you for donating generously.

P.S. The ride is from June 3-9, and during it I will be posting
regular photos and updates on Facebook.
