Twelve Years Later
When I began training for my first AIDS Ride from SF to LA in the fall of 2009 I had no idea I'd still be riding and fundraising 12 years later.
With my move to Portland, the constraints of CV19, and some significant back problems, I will not be able to ride this year. I've joined the Portland ALC Team. However, rather than riding, I will be working as a Roadie doing tasks needed on the ride, e.g. staffing an information table.
My goal again this year is $25,000. I invite you to join me by making a donation toward the cause of ending HIV/AIDS. Each ADS LIFECycle participant is required to raise $3000 in order to ride or Roadie. Since approximately $1000 of that amount covers the cost for each participant, I've donated $1000 to cover my expenses so that every dollar you donate will go toward services.
Thanks to those of you have joined Team Don Brown in the past. I look forward to your joining me again this year. I'm anxious to welcome many new members of Don Brown's Roadie Team this year.
People choose to participate in AIDS/LifeCycle for a number of reasons, but in the end we are all united by the single goal of ending HIV/AIDS permanently. The SF AIDS Foundation is working to make San Francisco the first city in the world where there are no new HIV infections. Your donation will help make that audacious goal possible.
I am grateful for your support and I invite and encourage you to donate as much and as often as you are able, every dollar you donate between now and the end of May will assist in the effort to end HIV/AIDS. This is a tax deductible donation for those of you who itemize on your tax return.
Thanks for your generosity and for your encouragement.
Love and hugz,
Don
