Thank you for joining me in this cause!
I'm once again riding from San Francisco to LA to support the cause of HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, and care. The fight continues. HIV today is manageable, but only with access to the right care & treatment. Sadly, funding for many of these services is at risk or cut already.
I highly encourage you to visit and follow The AIDS Memorial on Instagram. Its mission is to preserve the legacy of the AIDS epidemic and share stories of love, loss and remembrance of those tragically taken away from us too soon due to HIV/AIDS complications.
Lives are still being lost in America - mostly due to a lack of access to care and information. This is why we ride - to help prevent the loss of another generation and to pioneer HIV treatment and prevention techniques that can be used throughout the country to save lives.
This will be my fifth AIDS Lifecycle Ride. I plan to keep on riding to honor those who came before me, those who fought and struggled for these health services, and keep the goal front and center - we will continue to ride until there is a cure that is accessible to those who need it. This goal is within reach. And until we reach that goal, we must support local HIV/AIDS services.
The services supported by this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me. Each donation is immediately put to use by the SF AIDS foundation, providing testing, prevention and treatment services. Their mission is to radically reduce new HIV infections and ensuring access to care so that AIDS ends here.
The SF AIDS Foundation helps pioneer evidence-based programs for HIV prevention and care where the need is greatest. These programs are models for other parts of the world in the global effort to end HIV/AIDS. Beyond just testing, the SF AIDS Foundation offers counseling, support groups, and other ways of addressing co-factors of HIV infection like substance abuse, mental health, stable housing, financial support advocacy so people can maintain prevention and care plans.
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
With Love and Gratitude,
Awesome videos about the ALC Experience:
What impact can my goal of $5000 make?
- - Enable a mobile testing unit rolling for 1 years so that 2,400 gay, bi and transmen can be tested and counseled, reaching people who may otherwise not have access to testing or
- - Help 150 people receive medical benefits counseling to obtain prescription drug assistance or
- - Provide case management for 400 HIV-positive clients who are homeless or at-risk for homelessness, so they don't fall through the cracks of our not-so-perfect social services
