This will be my eighth year participating in AIDS/LifeCycle.
The past 20 years have afforded an aweful lot in the way of awareness, treatment, prevention, and support programs for those at-risk and for those living with HIV and AIDS. In 2017 the US government began terminating any funding for many these life changing/saving programs. Today the future of these programs is still in jeopardy. I'm going to continue to do my part to support these essential programs.
My late-partner James' and I created a training group in 2015 to focused on helping inexperienced AIDS/LifeCycle cyclists. In his honor I continue to facilitate the group. I do most of the planning and structuring of the training. With the help about half a dozen or so others we keep a group of about 25 new and returning riders encouraged and supported as we prepare to ride to Los Angeles.
I do all of this to end AIDS, for those than can't ride, for my loved ones who have lost so many due to this epidemic, and to make a difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.
From June 5th through 11th, 2022, I'm cycling in AIDS/LifeCycle again. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles.
Thank you.
Love and hugs,
Tim Butler
Help me support AIDS/LifeCycle by giving what you can. We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.
