The 2019 AIDS LifeCycle will be the fourth time I ride my bicycle 545 miles over 7 days from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise money to end HIV/AIDS.
“Why do it again?”
The goal of zero new HIV transmissions is in sight. With this in mind, I’ve returned to fight complacency that could derail us. I want folks to know that getting to zero won’t just happen. It isn’t as simple as a new treatment. If it were, we could just hand out a pill and go home – problem solved. The fact is, getting to zero means: improving access to healthcare, providing drug counseling, building stronger communities for support and treatment adherence, STI testing & treatment, HIV & STI prevention education, and advocacy at the federal, state, and local levels.
How we get to zero new HIV infections is through the programs offered by the Los Angeles LGBT Center that are a nationwide model of success in HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention. This year, I am riding as an ambassador of these programs.
YOU MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO GET TO ZERO! Your donation begins immediately funding the programs that will get us to zero new HIV transmissions. Please donate today.
