Fom May 31st to June 6th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I’ll AGAIN be one of them!
I ride in support of the Los Angeles LGBT Center, which provides dynamic and crucial services to those in most need. The Center's services and training mean the world to many. Your support means the world to me. Any donation - small or big - makes a huge impact. Will you join me?
January 11 - Training began in earnest today with a 22-mile ride in and around Griffith Park. Refreshing!
January 19 - Rode with team FUBAR (ahem, Friends United for Bicycles and Riding!) up Mount Washington in the Highland Park area. It was a nice and easy 16-miler with mostly gentle climbing. Feeling stronger week by week.
January 26 - Rode to FUBAR's meet-up point, getting a flat tire along the way. Whipped out my tire irons and CO2 cartridges like nobody's business. We did Montecito Heights today. Then I rode home for a total mileage of 32 today.
February 15 - Been a while since I last updated. I've been bike commuting to work, and today rode 40 miles with Team FUBAR, about 2,700 feet of climbing. Angeles Crest Highway is no joke! Next time we go all the way to the top instead of stopping halfway at the fire station.
