Since the coronavirus emergency started, The Los Angeles LGBT Center and San Francisco AIDS Foundation have been monitoring with public health officials to determine what would be the best course of action to keep our Riders, Roadies, and community safe and healthy.
They have made the difficult decision to cancel the AIDS/LifeCycle 2020 event. Team Starrfucker, along with AIDS/LifeCycle staff, are heartbroken that our favorite week of the year will not be happening. Still, we remain focused on our commitment to our mission of raising critical funds for the clients of The Los Angeles LGBT Center and San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
The state of the public health system has motivated us to double down on our goal to continue raising donations for the clients served by The Center and SFAF. Donations are critical in protecting the LGBTQ community from the COVID-19 virus and maintaining the HIV and AIDS health care for our community.
In June 2021, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies, and Virtual Cyclists will ride again in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from SF to LA to raise funds for the life-saving services.
I will be one of them! This is a personal challenge for me, both physically and emotionally. I have lost friends to AIDS, and I ride for them. 2021 will be my 3rd riding and my 4th fundraising.
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by donating today? The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the fucking world to me.
