I took a much needed break from riding and hounding you all for money. But I didn't completely abandon the ride!
In 2019 I got a chance to experience the ride from a different perspective and joined the AIDS/LifeCycle Staff for a week. To say it was a different experince would be a total understatement! I experienced first-hand what it took for this giant, well-oiled machine known as AIDS/LifeCycle to run smoothly. The number of humans, vehicles, permits, and yellow arrows (just to name a few) was beyond what I imagined. I will no longer complain about the route, the way a Rest Stop is set up, or why we have to constantly wash and sanitize our hands!
In 2020, I will return as a cyclist and as co-captain of this little team called CYCLEPATHS! I'm excited to raise awareness and help put an end to stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS, raise some dollars that benefit the life-saving services of the LA LGBT Center, and tackle the 7 day, 545 mi journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles for the 6th time!
So donate today! No donation is too small. Every dollar is put to work immediately!
