Thank you for joining me in this cause!
This year I will be taking part in my fifth AIDS LifeCycle and you may be wondering why I keep coming back. Well let me try to explain.
It’s not the camping out for a week, missing my family, being deprived of indoor plumbing, and pushing myself to exhaustion. I keep returning for some of the best people I have ever met, to see people that are impacted by the work I do, to visit communities who may not really know much about HIV, and to help spread a positive message.
As part of this journey, we also raise funds to support two great organizations who have made such a difference in the lives for not just people living with HIV, but to their family and friends. It is likely that each of you are closer than you realize to someone who is directly impacted by this disease and programs like these give them hope, but also help prevent future infections.
As I strap on my helmet again on June 2 at the Cow Palace, I will be thinking about all of this and all of you who have made it possible for me to participate, but even more importantly you have made life itself possible for someone. I just want to say thank you.
