Yes, I am riding to LA (again).
In June, 2022 I will be riding my bike (again, for the 7th time!!!) 545 miles from San Francisco to LA.
Why, you ask, would I do such a thing? Why would I do so for the 7th time? Well... because if COVID has taught me anything, it is the importance of science (and not FB), real research (and not People magazine), accessibility to medical/health services (and not veterinary medicine taken by humans), and my own personal need to ride my bike, be outdoors, be active, and perhaps more than anything else, be a contributing member of society.
That's where this amazing event (often referred to as "the love bubble") comes in! The AIDS/LifeCycle is a charity ride held to raise funds to support the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
Indeed! - every bit of my fundraising efforts and your generous donations go to critical services like counseling, HIV/STD screenings, linking youth experiencing homelessness and people living with HIV to housing, and so much more.
By supporting this cause, you take a firm stand against stigma, and helping to create a world where health justice is a reality for everyone.
It is with your unwavering generosity that I’ve raised over $30,000 in the past 6 years! As this is my 7th year riding, I have committed to raising over $10,000. Your help, at any amount, is beyond appreciated and beyond helpful.
On my end, I have already started training…
- I started my training just a few short months after the 2019 ALC with a ride along the length of Israel (https://youtu.be/mUWaIwFvh54).
- As there were no ALC rides for the past two years (due to covid), last year I went on a cross country ride from San Francisco to Yorktown, Virginia (https://youtu.be/fjkhj0HInvg).
- This year, I completed 1.5 “personal ALC” rides. The first ride was unsupported from SF to LA (https://youtu.be/T0pdioDmoYk). The second ride (the 1/2) was supported by the family and was a tad shorter, from SF to Pismo Beach - we stayed less than a mile away from the famous cinnamon buns place (https://youtu.be/pX6tjBEO5Dw).
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today? THANK YOU!!!
