Thank you for joining me in this cause!
May 31 - June 6th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I’m joining them again as a cyclist and proud team member of the Marin Marauders. I've been part of this gang for several years and am dedicated to raising $50,000 in my lifetime. I've now raised just under $25,000 and I appreciate your support!
AIDSLifecycle has become more than just a ride for me, it's become my community - a place of love, support and friendship. What started as a way to keep fit and try to give back, has become a passion. There are many causes out there, but this one is something that stirs me - every day around the world, HIV/AIDS is still a reality for millions of people. How can this be? This is 2020 ! Shouldn't there be a cure by now? We've come a long way in dealing with an epidemic but we have a long way to go. In the current political climate, focus on issues like this is needed - now more than ever. I know there are many causes that deserve attention, but this is the one I chose.
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me. Your donation not only helps those affected in the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas, but sets the standard for worldwide treatment of HIV and sends a message that zero transmission IS possible. I'm particularly interested in how HIV/AIDS affects women around the world, and I am proud that by riding my bike 545 miles, I can bring awareness to something that is preventable, still full of stigma and shame and is one of the leading causes of death of women worldwide.
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Thank you for your continued support by making a donation today!
