I will have been living with HIV for just 1 year when we ride out of the Cow Palace on Day 1. Participating in this year's Ride is how I plan to give back to anyone else who is recently diagnosed, and everyone who relies upon the help of the SF AIDS Foundation and LA LGBT Center's life saving services.
I ride for everyone who didn't get a chance to do so, because their lives were cut short by the very disease that I will always have in me.
It's important to me to "come out" as HIV positive, because the more of us that do so can only help reduce the stigma and fear that still exists within our society. I'll be okay, I have great health insurance and am already undetectable. But this is something I'll most likely live with the for rest of my life. Thanks to very expensive pharmaceuticals, I'll still be able to live a full life with my HIV negative partner.
But these drugs come at a cost not everyone can afford, nor have access to.
I'm ready to get back in the saddle, raise as much money as I can, and pedal it all out because I have more than ever to pedal for.
By donating to my ride, YOU are directly contributing to the Center’s ability to offer free HIV drugs, STD testing/treatment, mental health care, and SO MUCH MORE. Please help me reach my goal of raising at least 5k!
To say that AIDS/LifeCycle holds a special place in my heart would be an understatement. I have ridden it once in 2015, with the ameowzing Team Unpopular and then worked on staff at the Ride from 2016-2018.
As a staff member, I got a first-hand peek behind the curtain and let me tell you – this is an AMAZING ride that is full of the most hard working, dedicated staff, Roadies, and the vast rainbow of folks that make up the Love Bubble.
Will you support me by making a donation today?
