As the Bearded Ladies enter year six of our participation in the AIDS/LifeCycle we are faced with a new challenge of raising funds during a worldwide pandemic. COVID-19 may have cancelled the 2021 Ride but it has not cancelled our commitment to continue to raise funds at a time when HIV/AIDS services are needed, now more than ever.
Participating in the AIDS/LifeCycle, five years in a row, has been one of the most challenging, humbling, rewarding and love-filled experiences of my life. I have learned so much about sacrifice and perseverance, about the power of community and collectiveness, about the kindness that I never knew could exist from complete strangers, and about the capacity for love that exists to rally thousands of people and supporters around a common cause and mission.
The AIDS/LifeCycle, the incredible Bearded Ladies and the people I have met along the journey have changed me and continue to change me today. It is for this reason that I keep coming back to #BeardUpFightAIDS! Five years later, I remain committed and dedicated to the ride and its mission: to provide access to services for those living with HIV/AIDS and to bring greater awareness and visibility about HIV/AIDS to the larger community. I believe now, more than ever, we have to keep fighting, keep riding and keep raising funds for those who need it most.
And although the Ride will look different this upcoming year, I have committed to ride 750 miles during the training season and raise another $10,000 for the 2021 AIDS/LifeCycle!
Last year, The Bearded Ladies raised $19,950 for the LA LGBT Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation! In five years, as a team, we have raised over $180,675!!
Again, we are looking to all of YOU to join us and help us ride! Will you support me by making a donation today? Any amount helps and all funds raised are tax-deductible and payment plans are available.
Thank you again for supporting me. Your love, time, consideration and investment are invaluable to me!
