Thank you for clicking on my page and for joining me in this cause!
Last year, I participated the AIDS/LifeCycle 2018 not as a rider, but as a volunteer Roadie. AIDS/LifeCycle is a 545-mile bike ride fundraiser from San Francisco to Los Angeles raising money for life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. When I signed up, I didn't really know what to expect and volunteered primarily to support my daughter who was a Cyclist. I was truly amazed at what I saw during that week and watched in awe how 3000+ people came together for this cause. It was incredible to see the amount of coordination required to setup, run and breakdown the daily campsites. The cyclists' gear and camp amenities were transported and setup from place to place every day - from the tent city and personal gear, to the portable showers, to the food service and camp signage. There were well planned and stocked rest stops for the riders, and food at camp was plentiful. People were friendly and I was warmly welcomed in the community. Everything ran so smoothly! It brought my heart so much joy to be part of the AIDS/LifeCycle Love Bubble 2018!
In June of 2019, I am going to do it again! But this time, I am participating as a Cyclist. Last year I was inspired not only by the number of cyclists, but also the diversity and sheer gratitude and inclusiveness of everyone participating. There were both young and senior riders, people from the LGBTQ community and those that were not. There were people in riding gear and others in costumes, people that were clearly in prime physical shape and some that had a few too many donuts. It didn't matter the color of your skin, the physical shape you were in or your sexual orientation - everyone got along and had a great time. I sure did!
I decided to ride because I can make a difference and want to help. Please help me reach my donation goal, any amount you contribute helps. We are working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
