Thank you for joining me in this cause!
June 2nd - June 8th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I’ll be one of them!
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me.
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
My Personal Web Log
On this day 11 years ago I found out I was HIV +. The memory of that day will always be as if it was yesterday..... When I got the news from my Dr. a million emotions ran through my mind, my heart ached and disbelief filled me. I needed to tell someone to let out my emotions and to get my mind working again. After trying my best friend Dan with no answer because he was flying home, I ended up calling my mom. It was one of the hardest things I had ever done but one of the best. After many conversations with my family, softball team mates and close friends I decided that I would take this new challenge in my life as an opportunity to educate and put a familiar face to the disease. Every year it gets a little easier with the continuing support from my friends and family, the great strides that are being made in education and treatment. My ask this year to you is help reduce the stigma associated, get tested, educate yourself and have a conversation about PREP with your DR to see if its the right choice for you. If I can help just one person than I know that speaking my truth and being open about my status was worth it.
