The Journey countiunes. Yes, I'm in for year 3 of Aids Life Cycle. My journey stared in early 2015 as I turned 40 and weighting 370lbs. I synced with a Nutritionist and in a year lost over 170lbs. At that time I was challenged by a ALC veteran from Team Walmart to join the ride. I got a bike and signed up after cheering on riders in ALC 2016. I have since logged 1000's of miles on my bicycle, meet amazing folks, created lifetime memories, saw California in a whole new way and raised over $20,000 to SF Aids Foundation/ALC.
Not only for my personal journey but the journey of those with HIV/AIDS is a daily struggle. Technology and Medication has been able to pre-long lives but the struggle to find a cure, aid/medication, eduacaton and more is harder then ever. Last year I was able to fundraise $11.6k and need your help (most of you again) to hit that number!
PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS JOURNEY by donating $10, $25, $50, $100, $150, $1000 or more. (Donations to AIDS/LifeCycle are deductible for income tax purposes, to the extent permitted by law.)
The San Francisco Aids Foundations works to end the HIV epidemic in the city where it began, and eventually everywhere. Established in 1982, our mission is the radical reduction of new infections in San Francisco because we refuse to accept HIV as inevitable. Through education, advocacy, and free local services for prevention and care, SFAF confronts HIV in neighborhoods most impacted by the disease and gives a powerful voice to all people living with the disease nationwide. How does your donation help?
$100 can help provide the travel cost for a Stop AIDS Treatment Advocacy Coordinator to attend the medical appointments of 25 clients, providing moral support and to help clients advocate for themselves
$25 can help a Financial Benefits counselor to assist one person in navigating the private and public benefits systems, including Medi-Cal, Medicare, CARE/HIPP, short-term disability, and Social Security
Even $10 can help provide 143 condoms that the Stop AIDS Project will distribute out.
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me.
