In 2020, I will embark on my 5th year of participating in the AIDS/LifeCycle. At that point I will be 20 years strong and undetectable as an HIV+ gay man of color.
In February of 2000, I was diagnosed with HIV and was immediately put on medications to get my viral load down and my T cells (white blood cells) up.
Over the past 20 years, I have been able to manage this virus because of the love and support of my family and friends, and having insurance/access to medical services and medications. If I didn’t, I would have to rely on agencies like the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center to provide those life-sustaining services. This is WHY I RIDE.
I have challenged myself for the 5th year in a row to ride 545-miles and raise $10,000 for these integral services and to help those who do not have insurance/access.
Today I ask you to join me by donating towards my 2020 AIDS/LifeCycle ride and goal. Since 2016, I have raised over $35,000 and my fellow Bearded Ladies and I have raised over $134,500 to help put an end to AIDS.
