Time to get back on the (bike) saddle!
Last summer, I embarked on a transformative journey. Riding from San Francisco to Los Angeles, I met some amazing people, saw some amazing places, and felt some amazing things.
Most of all the AIDS LifeCycle gave me the opportunity to serve my community. This year, I am doing it again!
I hope you will join me, by donating!
Being on a bike for 7 days was way bigger than the soreness, the fun, the sweat and the sun. It was symbolic of what a group of people can do to raise money, awareness and hope for a cure. Last year, many of you helped me raise over $3,700, thank you for your support.
Having friends and loved ones affected by HIV/AIDS, I feel particularly close to the cause and invested in finding a path to a future without it. Being part of demographics disproportionately affected by HIV/AIDS, I feel my support is not only warranted, but necessary. Even with medical, scientific, and policy advancements, there is still plenty of work to do!
Until we can break stigma, inequality, and discrimination when it comes to HIV/AIDS, I will continue to ride.
May 31st - 6th, 2019, will be my second year riding in the AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I will be joining over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists, raising funds for the treatment and the prevention of the spread of HIV/AIDS across the country. This ride in particular funds the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center with their work providing much needed life-saving medical, mental health and dependency counseling services.
I am excited for this year's journey. I am looking forward to how we can work together to break the fundraising record of last year. In total the 2019 raised over $16 Million! Let's try to break that this year!
Every donation, no matter how small or how big counts toward my $5,000 fundraising goal. Pledging not only shows your support for me as a rider, but for the greater effort for research and services for those who need it the most. I am incredibly grateful for every dollar given, and will be an added motivation thinking of each of you as I embark on the ride.
Together we can all make a difference to end HIV/AIDS.
Will you support me by making a donation today?
