Thank you for joining me in this cause!
Between May 31st and June 6th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. In 2020, I'll be a veteran so that means I want to step up my fundraising. I raised my goal and intend to break it.
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me. Remember, your donations go towards actual HIV prevention and treatment. It goes well beyond handing out condoms; it funds education and lifesaving medication. If you grew up in the '80s and '90s, like me, you may still think HIV is a death sentence. It isn't, thanks to antiretroviral drugs. Many HIV+ people live for decades, but only if they have access to some fairly expensive drugs. Those same drugs have also been found to reduce infection rates, dramatically, but only if taken daily. I ride because I feel very strongly that a person's life span shouldn't be dictated by their socioeconomic status.
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
