Hi Friends and Family,
Starting May 31st I had planned to participate in my fifth AIDS/Lifecycle to benefit the Los Angeles LGBT Center and the San Francisco AIDS foundation. Unfortunately the 2020 event has been canceled due to the COVID-19 virus. However, the need for services from these organizations has not been canceled. Having gotten to know these groups the last few years, I have seen the lifesaving support they provide to the LGBTQ+ community including seniors living with HIV and youth who end up on LA streets after running away from homes that in many cases have rejected them for something for which they have no control.
For the last three years I have participated in ALC as a Roadie instead of a Rider. This means that since I give a week of my time to help the ride, I don't have a mandatory fund raising goal and hence I haven't asked for donations. This year is different. Last year we raised nearly $17 million to help fight AIDS and support the LGBTQ+ clients that look to the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center to help them in their time of need. The now cancelled ride has so far raised a little over $6 million so the new fundraising goal is $13 million once the cost of putting on the ride is subtracted from what was raised last year.
So here is your chance to join me. Please click on the Donate Now button to the right and make a contribution. My goal is to raise $3000. Only with your help can I acheive this and support LGBTQ+ youth and those living with HIV. Oh, and if by chance your company has a matching gift program, please take the time to fill out their matching gift form to multiply your generosity. Please make a note on the form that you will be assisting the fund raising of Nick Carter, participant number 8138.
The EIN (Tax ID #) for the Los Angeles LGBT Center is 95-3567895 which is a nonprofit, public benefit corporation recognized as tax exempt under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3). Donations to AIDS/LifeCycle are deductible for income tax purposes, to the extent permitted by law. For more information go to the website www.aidslifecycle.org
Thanks in advance for your support.
