Thank you for participating in my *fifth* AIDS/LifeCycle journey!
This year I have set a personal fundraising goal of $10,000 and committed to riding 545 miles (equivalent to cycling from San Francisco to Los Angeles) to raise visibility and funds for this critical cause!
Although, as a result of the pandemic, we won’t be able to ride physically together to LA this year, AIDS/LifeCycle and my team the Pedal Pups will be training full scale - together in spirit - as part of TogetheRide!
What is TogetheRide? I'm so glad you asked ;) It's AIDS/LifeCycle gone virtual! A community, thousands strong, united by our shared goal of logging 1.2 million miles by June 30th and raising millions of dollars to support the ongoing fight of San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center to end AIDS.
Why 1.2 million miles? To honor the 1.2 million people in the US living with HIV/AIDS. And to shine a light on the importance of continuing to combat stigma and raise crucial funds for our mission to end AIDS.
Over the past four years, through your generous donations, I raised over $23,000 for the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center, so they can continue to provide critical life-saving services to prevent, diagnose, treat, and ultimately find a CURE for HIV/AIDS.
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me:
- $500 will provide HIV prevention counseling to 60 teens
- $500 will provide 40 rapid HIV and antibody tests at one of our testing sites
- $1000 covers a full year of medical supply costs for 40 patients
- $1000 helps ensure the program, Positive Force, can hold two community forums where 150 men will learn how to live better and longer with HIV
Thank you for joining me in this cause by making a donation today!!
With love and gratitude, always - Josh
