We are all in a very strange place at the moment, and it seems no aspect of our lives is exempt from the current state of affairs. I know we will get through this, but we are feeling and knowing how difficult it is to be estranged from friends and family, to see our favorite activities curtailed and cancelled.
The AIDS/Lifecycle Ride, of course, is not exempt from current events. The 2020 Ride has was cancelled, and while we were hopeful about 2021, it has been cancelled too.
In the meantime, the AIDS/HIV crisis remains, another piece of the mosaic of human challenges, on top of COVID and terrible economic challenges.
And even though the Ride is cancelled this year, the need remains. We have committed to raise funds for research to end the AIDS and HIV epidemic, and we raise funds to help care for the people who are at this moment living with AIDS and HIV.
So….. the purpose of the Ride has always been to raise money, and the need remains. While we are deeply disappointed that there will be no Ride in 2021, no “Love Bubble” moving down the coast, it seems beside the point right now.
To those who have so generously donated year after year, I send my love and thanks, and to those who have the ability to do so, I again humbly ask that you consider being a donor this year for the force of good.
With deepest love and respect,
