My friends and family in the LGBTQ community have been such a lovely support for me and have taught me the value of living life authentically.
For about 20 years of my life, I lived with debilitating body image issues that were a result of emotional/psychological abuse and the everyday struggle of existing outside of what society deems as "normal" and acceptable. This experience and the acceptance I found within the LGBTQ Community is one component of how and why I feel so deeply connected. Another component is that the wonderful people I have met from this community helped me to find my way out of an extremely dark life, into the bliss of living as my true, authentic, CONFIDENT self!
So... while I have become an extremely present ally, I realized that it is not enough and I wanted to do more for the community I hold so dear to my heart; this lead me to choosing AIDS/LifeCycle as a cause to get behind. This ride has a reputation for funding AIDS research, but the truth is, the two organizations who run it--SF AIDS Foundation and LA LGBT Center--disperse the raised funds toward many services that support the entire community, not just those living with HIV and AIDS. Please go to aidslifecycle.org to learn more! (If you specifically want to know what good they do, go to "Why We Ride" then "The Beneficiaries" OR just check out my FB page.)
In general, I encourage you to ask me questions and/or research this great event and I hope it will inspire you to donate. And, by all means, feel free to donate just because you love me and want to help me support my favorite community. <3
Thanks in advance for your money!

About the ride:
June 2nd - June 8th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I'll be participating as a Roadie!
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me.
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
