Thank you for joining me in this challenge! Together, we can bring an end to AIDS!
From May 31st until June 6th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle! ALC is a 545-mile bike ride from the Cow Palace in San Francisco to Los Angeles City Hall to raise funds for the life-saving services and education offered by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. I am volunteering as a Roadie again and need your help!
In 2017, I got to experience the wonder of ALC first hand as a member of the Bike Parking team. We saw every cyclist out in the morning, and greeted them in the evening. I heard the tales of the adventure of these cyclists, and also of the heartache of why they ride, of loved ones lost, of lives forever changed by a disease only recently understood. In 2018, I rode nearly all of the 545 miles in an effort to raise awareness and funds for those in need. In 2019, I stepped up to help captain the Bike Parking roadie team of 30 people who helped cyclists every day from before dawn until dusk! For 2020, I am back in Bike Parking as team Co-Captain and going to help the 2500+ cyclists on their way down the coast yet again! I can't do it alone, though. This is where you come in!
Even though I am not riding, the SFAF and LA LGBT Center still need your help to provide their life-saving services. AIDS/Lifecycle, as an event, provides far more than the average percentage directly into their services, with very little overhead for such a huge event. And the funds raised are applied immediately, they don't wait until the event to disperse. By volunteering, this helps even more of those funds go to people who need them. The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me and to thousands of people who either need these life-saving services or have lost people to AIDS and don't want to see anyone else lost. Whether they receive reduced-cost or free medicines or they are educated in how to stay safe from this virus, every dollar goes to helping end new cases of HIV and AIDS and helping those with the disease live better. Together, we can help people live longer, healther lives and can eradicate the scourge of AIDS!
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me as I support others by making a donation today?
