50 Something Austin, Texas man attemps to bike from SF to LA in 2020 and a few others place too!
May 31st - June 6th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I’ll be one of them!
I am once again volunteering my time but I am not getting my hands dirty as a roadie. This year I will be training way way in advance to be one of the riders. I will start my summer building up my skills on a hybrid till I find a road bike. I expect lots of challanges along the way but isn't that what's life about. Finding them and pushing through.
This will not be the only ride I do in 2020 but it will be longest.
Contributing that first $1000 from my pocket to get ball rolling. Consider matching me at 10%, you can split that out over payments at $10 a month. Take advantage of corporate matching gift program at your company as well. Every little bit adds up and I need lots of little bits to hit the big target this time. Higher amounts will be accepted too! Also since feel I need lots of time in the bike seat, free to suggest other rides for me contribute my fundraising time to as well. Happy to support great causes out there.
Dontations over $200 are entered in a monthly drawing for a souffle or ice cream made in your home by me. Good and good for you. :-)
Let's make a difference.
