Dear Family and Friends,
This is my third year participating with AIDS/LifeCycle, which is now called the TogetheRide. So once again, I am riding my own routes through the beautiful Coachella Valley or on the Peloton (stationary bike in my home). Hopefully I can venture to some other cities to ride, but will always be safe and have others with me. The changes for 2021 are thanks to our current pandemic, COVID 19 (vaccine coming soon). I ride and fundraise to raise awareness and try my best to help end the negative stigma with HIV/AIDS (another pandemic that has no vaccine or cure).
The agencies that receive the benefits are the San Francisco Aids Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. These agencies both provide resources and services for the LGBT Community. If you have time and live near, please consider touring these facilities they are both wonderful including the wonderful employees there.
Our daughter, Samantha, is a lesbian and is currently engaged to her fiance', Alex. If for some reason Kevin and I were not here the above agencies would be there for them. They would be there for them now, if needed. Most youth in the LGBT community do not have parents that support them. Kevin and I still have a hard time with that. It is unimaginable to me for sure.
I am committed to riding 2,500 miles and raising $7,500.00. I know I will do my best to do more than I committed to because that is just the type of person that I am.
The TogetheRide is something that you may want to participate in. If you do, please email me at Colleen@cymlighting.com. I will get you information on becoming a participant.
If you make the decision to donate or participate, please know that I am so very thankful.
