In 2020 I will once again be joining over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Since I first signed up for Aids LifeCycle (ALC) in the fall of 2017, cycling has become an integral part of my life in San Francisco. I signed up as a way to support a good cause and in hopes of finding a community — I have been able to do both! Since that fall I have become a stronger and more experienced cyclist, expanded my interest into other types of riding and in spring 2019 I even traveled to race 100 miles through the Oklahoma dirt with two teammates from my cycling team, SheSpoke.
I didn't ride ALC in June 2019, though I participated as a Training Ride Leader helping to train other riders as they prepared for their journey south. I am riding again in 2020. We start from San Francisco and seven days later arrive in downtown Los Angeles. It's 545 miles of beautiful California views, fun, sweat, and a community of people coming together to accomplish something great. The money raised will support the SF AIDS Foundation and the LA LGBT Center as they continue the fight against HIV/AIDS.
I’ve committed to raising $10,000 for the ride. It’s a big number, any support you are willing to give will be much appreciated as the AIDS Lifecycle Ride community continues to work together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past!
