Thank you for joining me in this cause!
June 2nd - June 8th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I’ll be one of them!
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me.
After riding in the AIDS Vaccine 200 for the past two years, I decided 2019 is the year to go big. Two weeks after I finish 200 miles, I will roll out of the Cow Palace in San Francisco, heading to Los Angeles.
I was inspired by the personal stories of the AV200 riders - who have now become friends - these dedicated athletes who have lost friends and family to AIDS, and some who are now HIV positive. I was inspired by their dedication to find a vaccine to prevent the spread of this disease, to end the stigma, and fight to live a long, healthy life.
Their drive, passion, and dedication inspired me to regain my health and fitness. I will be riding for my friends, my fellow riders, those who are fighting their way back to health after a diagnosis, the 1.2 million in the US infected, and the 36.9 million infected globally.
This ride will provide support and needed services for those living and thriving with HIV and AIDS. Donations will be split between the two agencies, helping to fund things like providing free HIV/AIDS medical care, testing, and prevention services, raising awareness to end the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS, and providing a positive, life affirming experience for people affected by HIV/AIDS.
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
