Thank you for joining me in this cause! I’m excited to share my AIDS/LifeCycle journey with you.
Anyone that knows me will know that doing my first AIDS/LifeCycle in 2018 was a life changing experience for me in so many ways. In awareness, in self-education and in appreciation for the cause.
So what is AIDS/LifeCycle?
It’s a 545 mile, 7 day bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise awareness and funds to reduce new HIV infections, improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS and to put an end to the disease once and for all.
The ride supports the life-saving research and services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center including counseling, HIV/STD screenings, proving housing to homeless people living with HIV, and so much more. The research and work done by both organisations serve as models of care and prevention throughout the world.
I'm so excited to be part of it all again and I'm asking you to join me in standing up to stigma, speaking up to promote the education of HIV and AIDS and to donate to help me raise as much funding as possible for this cause.
We are making progress!
When I was preparing for the ride in 2018, statistics showed that in the 7 days it would take me to ride from SF to LA, more than 1,000 people would become infected with HIV in the United States alone. In 2021 this number has reduced to 650.
It is an incredible reduction and shows with continued education and dedication to this cause, HIV & AIDS will one day come to an end.
That said, infections are still happening. 1.5 million people became newly infected with HIV in 2020 and 680,000 people died from AIDS-related illnesses.
So we still have work to do but we will make this a thing of the past!
Please support me and this incredible cause today with a donation, spread the word and start the conversation!
Thank you! Your support means the world to me!
