In June 2020, inspired by my wife Sonja, I was going to ride in the AIDS/Lifecycle ride from San Francisco to LA, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. The COVID-19 happened and the ride didn't happen. There will also be no ride next year due to uncertainties. However, the need for support to end AIDS and provide much needed services remains.
I am joining TogetheRide.org to help and do my part so both charitable organization can continue to do their outstanding work. I am committing to ride 2500 miles and raise $5000 and I hope that everyone who reads this will help me in doing so.
If you are curious how your Dollars can help, check out https://www.togetheride.org/about-us/our-beneficiaries/.
Even better, dust off one your bikes and start riding as well. Joining is easy and there are no required minimum amounts to help. You may even get a cool Thank you gift: https://www.togetheride.org/fundraising/thank-you-gifts/
So if you can, consider making a donation and support me in getting to (or even exceeding) my goal to raise $5000 to help the less fortunate.
Please note: If your employer matches donations and you decide to be so generous in using some of it, https://www.aidslifecycle.org/registered-participants/fundraising/matching-gifts-faq/ provides information on how to make sure the match gets to the right place. My participant number is 1432. Or simply include the link to this page in your matching request.
