June 3rd - June 9th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I’ll be one of them!
I came to the ride by way of a good friend. After watching her train and do the ride last year, I was inspired to do the ride this year. Like her, I am in “extra innings” on this planet. Although I survived open heart surgery to get me to my “extra innings” in life, I have been told by doctors that I can no longer do certain activities that I love and used to do often. I may never climb El Capitan or dive off Great Barrier Reef again, but I am grateful to still be on the planet and participating the AIDS LifeCycle Ride gives me the opportunity to do something that is rewarding for more reasons than just the physical challenge.
I have already met some amazing people on training rides and other AIDSLifecycle events. I am looking forward to spending a week cycling with them down the coast of California and raising money for the goal of ending AIDS.
The services provided as a result of this event mean the world to those who receive them, and your support means the world to me.
We’re working together to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past. Will you support me by making a donation today?
Also, your donation can be spread out over 10 months so that you only need to pay out half of your donation by the start of the ride in June (to do this, select “monthly payments” after selecting your total donation amount).
Thank you for joining me in this cause!
