Thank you for joining me in this cause!
This year, from May 31st to June 6th more than 3,000 cyclists, roadies, and virtual cyclists will take part in the AIDS/LifeCycle event.
It is a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the Los Angeles LGBT Center and San Francisco AIDS Foundation, and help them in their goal to reduce new HIV infections and improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS.
I know many people living with HIV/AIDS, and over the years I have lost several friends to it. So this cause is close to my life, close to my heart.
I will be joining the team of roadies who make the ride go smoothly. Roadies set up camp, feed and hydrate the riders, take care of blisters and bruises, pack up and clean up. Then they drive the whole circus 80 or so miles to the south and do it all over again.
Not only will I be working as a roadie, I also will do my part to help raise funds. That means I am asking you to support me by making a donation today. This is my third year with the AIDS/LifeCycle, and I have set an ambitious goal of $2,000. Please help me reach or exceed this goal. You are amazing.
Together, we are working to make HIV/AIDS a thing of the past.
