I am so excited to share with you that I'm riding in the AIDS Lifecycle this coming year! This year, I am celebrating so many things. First and foremost, I am riding with my Fiance, Trace.
Yes, you heard it right - Fiance! Trace entered into my life at the perfect time. 2017 was a year of tremendous change and self reflection dealing; with a divorce, working up the strength to face the demons of childhood, a loss of self assurance, facing and dealing with depression. He has truly been my rock! Thank you! I love you! A huge thank you to my friends (my chosen family) for their support as well, I love you all!
I was so lucky to have been there everynight (well when we could connect) in support of Trace's personel experience of the ride last year. I got to experience (with him)the great depths of emotions he went through while riding and reflecting on his loss, his struggles to push himself, his love for me, our future together and what outfit he was going to wear the next day.. kisses babe..
I'm looking forward to experiencing this together as a couple, because together I wholeheartedly believe we can accomplish anything in life.
Together, we are looking to raise a combined amount of $20,000 to support those that absolutely need this help.
Fundraising this year is the most important its been in so many years. Federal funding is being cut or re-routed and so all of the gains that we have made in the reduction of new HIV infections, we are fearing will be lost.
We spend the most money on healthcare and yet we have one of the worst societies when it comes to health.
Did you know that $5000 funds a mobile testing unit for a full year? This is a unit that goes out into the economically and socio-economically challenged areas and brings testing and awareness to groups that would otherwise not have access to it. This testing unit allows people to get tested without fear of retribution or ridicule.
We want to fund a total of four testing units! Two from my donations/efforts and two from Trace's.
This year, you can make a larger donation and spread your donation payments over as many as 10 months. If you can afford to skip 5 Starbucks coffee drinks a month, you can donate up to $30 monthly. 10 payments of $30 and that is $300. All of which is tax deductible to the extent that you can take the deductions.
But, no matter what, Trace and I appreciate your support. FYI - when we ride this together, we will be doing so as husbands. We are so excited, 2019 is going to be an amazing year and can't wait for you to share in our story.
A Facebook page will be published soon. We will ask you to follow the page and there we will post videos, messages and more - its our way of thanking you for supporting us and these great organizations.
A huge thank you from the both of us!
