What an incredible AIDS/LifeCycle my rookie year in 2019 turned out to be! I made great friends, rode with friends I've known just a short time but already feel like they are my part of my FRAMILY, spent the week with my RIDE CRUSH (Omar) and did some amazing work fundraising for research and medical breakthroughs for HIV and AIDS.
You know what, though? That amazing fundraising was all beacause of YOU! I want to thank each and every one of you for the generosity you displayed. Together, we are making a difference - and that's evident in the record-breaking $16.7 million that was raised collectively in 2019. We are going to make 2020 even better!
For my personal campaign in 2020 - let's go for $20,000!
Now, why are you reading this? It's because you, like me, are a champion for love, people, acceptance, and inclusion. AIDS/LifeCycle is a tribute to all of those things, and it will be one incredible journey when we roll out of San Francisco in June destined for Los Angeles. I will be there that week, riding with my community, to represent all the resources, time and effort we will have put toward this ride to:
-Fund the work of San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center to provide free HIV/AIDS medical care, testing, and prevention services
-Raise awareness to end the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS.
-Provide a positive, life affirming experience for people affected by HIV/AIDS.
-Grow our community of activists, volunteers, and ambassadors fighting to end AIDS.
-Honor those who have passed from AIDS-related causes.
Thank you for joining me in this cause!
I'm rolling into my second year at LifeCycle. I intend on making a big splash once again as we approach this 545 mile journey to Los Angeles. We'll roll out of Cow Palace on May 31 and ride until June 6. More than 3,000 cyclists will be there, along with Roadies (volunteers) and Virtual Cyclists. The mission is to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. And those services and funds trickle down throughout the nation as the breakthroughs are discovered to share best practices, methods and resources with local centers in your area. So the money you give goes toward helping everyone, everywhere.
Your support means the world to me.
