Thank you for joining me in this cause!
June 2nd - June 8th, over 3,000 Cyclists, Roadies and Virtual Cyclists will be participating in AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise funds for the life-saving services offered by San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This year, I’ll be one of them!
One of my earliest memories is making cards for patients at an HIV/AIDs Clinic in Baltimore City, when I accompanied my father – a STI specialist — to “bring your daughter to work day.” I am biking to continue to support people with HIV/AIDs, as it is not yet something of the past, and can only do so with your support.
What impact can your donation have?
• $100 affords a Treatment Advocacy Coordinator at the SF AIDS Foundation the ability to attend medical appointments for up to 25 clients, providing moral support and helping clients advocate for themselves
• $250 helps the Los Angeles LGBT Center provide rapid HIV tests, with results in less than 20 minutes, for 25 clients
• $500 helps the SF AIDS Foundation provide funding for up to 50 members of the Elizabeth Taylor 50-Plus Network come together twice a month in order to offer support for individuals working through anxiety, depression and isolation.
• $1000 funds one client at the Los Angeles LGBT Center receiving Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) to prevent HIV infection after potential exposure.
